Hello!
It’s time to make a brew, grab a slice of cake, put your feet up and find out what we’ve been up to lately. There’s plenty to share with you.
First up, it’s our round up of what’s been happening in the Bakery. As you may know, throughout January we have been testing, testing and well, testing new products. We have finalised our up and coming Small Batch Bakes alongside some new traybakes which are gluten free and vegan! For this month’s Small Batch Bake we released a Maple, Pecan and Dark Chocolate Blondie. It’s FLOWN out, so, breaking all of our rules, we have made a second batch. If you want to know what all the fuss is about, order yours here.
At the beginning of the month, Lisa and Megan jumped on the train to Birmingham to take part in the British Baker’s ‘Artisan Collective’, a meeting of like-minded bakers from all around the country. We toured Birmingham’s finest bakeries and listened to some fascinating industry experts about social media and online ordering. Best of all, we got to sample lots of cake, pastries and bakes from some amazing bakers. We came home full of new ideas for our website – so watch this space!
Valentine’s Gifts

As February is here, our thoughts have turned to Valentines Day and some of the best gifts to send to your loved ones. If you’re planning a night in, our Damson Almondie Tarts make a brilliant dessert, especially served warm with a dollop of whipped cream. Or, our Chocolate Buttons are perfect for a fruit fondue or a chocolate mousse. And if you are planning
a romantic breakfast, then the Honey, Pecan and Apricot Granola is sure to get you into the good books. Don’t forget, we have our ‘Sent With Love‘ traybake selection which says it all for you!
Listen to Lisa’s Story
If you’re interested in what our founder, Lisa, did before Ginger Bakers, her trials and successes and just a bit abut Ginger Bakers, she recently chatted to Melody Moore from Liberare Consulting on her ‘Secret Resume’ Podcast. It’s a fascinating listen. Click the link below to hear it.
This Week…
This week we have our annual SALSA audit happening. If you’re not sure what SALSA is, it is a voluntary scheme that helps you find ‘Safe And Local Supplier Approval’ businesses. It means all of our ingredients are fully tracked and recorded so you can buy with confidence from us. We also have a photo shoot with fabulous Tiree, where we will be photographing some gorgeous new gift ideas, alongside our new ‘Special Events’ page where you will be able to order larger amounts for occasions.
Don’t forget, if you want to keep up to date with our latest news and releases, sign up here for our news letter.
Fantastic cakes we learned about this place from a visit to Pure Lakes who gave us a piece of the delicious stout cake while at their soap making class. Now we visit ginger bakers every visit to lake district.
Thank you for your lovely feedback June. We love Pure Lakes, their products are fantastic, and great folks too!
Be sure to say hello next time you’re visiting.
