How has your 2025 begun? For us it arrived in a whirl, hot on the heels of our busiest ever December. You guys went wild for our Christmas in a Box after the lovely review in The Guardian, Then, a re-run of an old ‘Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh’ just after Christmas saw you all dashing for our Sticky Stem Ginger Cake, so welcome if you’re new around here!
If you have been around for a while, you will know that each month we release a new and exciting limited edition cake, our Small Batch Bakes. We started releasing them in 2024, and if you’ve been trying them, this months needs NO introduction, as it is by far the most asked for from last year. For January, we have brought back our Morello Cherry and Almond Traybake. A light and fluffy almond sponge is sandwiched together with a generous helping of Claire’s Handmade Morello Cherry jam. We then top it with a vanilla mascarpone butter cream, before adding lots of toasted flaked almonds and crushed dried cherries.
It’s THE perfect pick me up for January, and we do not expect this one to be hanging around long.
And the best news is – if you are a wholesale customer, we have brought it back as a permanent addition, so you can order it beyond January! Just head on over to our wholesale pages to take a look, or be sure to let your favourite cafe know about it!

If you are new to Ginger Bakers, or maybe your favourite cafe is having their annual winter break and you’re missing a bit of cake, then here are some of our most popular cakes from 2024.
- Chocolate Stout Loaf Cake. It’s moist with a great depth of flavour. It makes a great pudding option too.
- Almondies – HUGE favourites at Westmorland and Cairn Services, these are gluten and dairy free. Pop them in the oven for a little warm through and they are *Chefs Kiss*.
- Westmorland Pepper Cake. A Ginger Baker’s Exclusive. Serve with butter and cheese for a perfect supper.
And don’t forget some of our hidden gems. We launched our Honey, Pecan and Apricot Granola in 2024 and it instantly became a hit. We even have one customer who buys it alongside our dark chocolate, so she can add a few buttons to her breakfast. Smart customer indeed.
