Happy New Year

By 13th January 2018Uncategorised

After a bumper first Christmas in our new HQ we are entering 2018 with keen excitement. There are no January blues here, it is our favourite time of  year as we begin creating, testing and tasting new products for the year ahead. We have some fantastic ideas, we will post our progress and new launches here.

Throughout 2018 we will continue to keenly support the Slow Food Movement, they seek to promote a better way to eat, celebrate food traditions and protect edible biodiversity.  Our very own Westmorland Pepper cake has made an impact with the Slow Food Movement and has made it’s way into their Ark of Taste programme.  By promoting these products and the traditions and knowledge that surrounds them, they hope that future generations will still be able to access their local culinary culture. Our aim this year is to make sure this amazing cake is available across the UK and not just it’s home in Cumbria.

Be our guest!

During 2018 we will be also sharing news and stories on our blog from some of our fellow Twitter and Facebook friends who run successful businesses in The Lake District. Supporting each other through social media platforms and online communities are a wonderful way of showing how much we all care about what’s important to us all – family, friends, food and of course the wonderful environment where we live, in  the stunning county of Cumbria. We will have blogs from foodies, fell walkers and even photographs … doggies even too! You may come across the adventures of some old friends and perhaps some new ones too. We hope you will enjoy what they have to write about. They all have one thing in common with us too – they are all big cake fans!

We will be welcoming Aiden Monks from our Lovingly Artisan, Alex from Keswick Boot Co, Cathryn Connor from Aspire Photography Training, just for starters this spring! We can’t wait to share the photos from our Christmas competition too – Clare Malley Photography will be shooting two little scallywags around the Lakes when she captures Scrappy Nelson & Duncan Pickles the “Border Terrorists who won our competition to win a photo shoot with pet photographer Clare in The Lake District.

If you love nature, the outdoors and lovely people doing amazing things in the area & would like to join our guest bloggers community please check us out on Facebook or Twitter and drop us a line.
